Financial Aid
Nova Scotia Student Assistance
Administered by Nova Scotia's Department of Education, the Student Assistance Office helps eligible Nova Scotia residents with the cost of their post-secondary education. Whether planning to attend a college, university, university-college, public institute or private training school, students have access to loans, grants and special programs.
Nova Scotia's student financial programs are need-based, providing assistance when students and their immediate families do not have the resources to meet the costs of full-time education and basic living expenses. However, eligibility also depends on maintaining a satisfactory scholastic standard.
The Student Assistance Office administers programs on behalf of the Government of Nova Scotia and of Canada, including Canada Student Loans, Canada Study Grants, Canada Access Grants and Millennium Access Grants.
